The First Peoples' Heritage, Language and Culture Council, the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation (MARR) and the New Relationship Trust (NRT) have come together in support of First Nations language and culture revitalization in British Columbia.

The Office of Indigenous Affairs was created to offer leadership and coordination at a senior level for the many and rapidly developing Indigenous initiatives across the University of Victoria.
