Economic Development Officer (EDO)
A. Purpose (Position Summary)
Numerous economic development opportunities exist in the construction,
forestry, oil & gas, mineral, hydro, wildlife resource, and tourism industries
(among others) that can be pursued by the (name of First Nation band)
people to ensure they benefit from the positive economic impacts resulting
from these projects.
EDOs will play a key role in the development and execution of
Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) being developed by the (name
of First Nation band) with key industry stakeholders in Alberta, and the use
of related working agreements to contract specific number of companies
and /or employ First Nations people with industries active on their reserve.
