Low-profile Committee Seeks to Change First Nations Funding Mechanism

A small committee of federal politicians and Indigenous leaders is working to transform the mechanism by which the federal government provides funds to Canada's 634 First Nations. The First Nations-Canada Joint Committee on the Fiscal Relationship consists of two representatives of the Assembly of First Nations, Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett, and another federal representative.
