A rare "travelling" copy of Treaty 8 — intended to be transported throughout the territories covered by the treaty — was discovered at the First Nations University of Canada, where it is now on display. The treaty covers northeastern B.C., part of northern Alberta, the southern Northwest Territories, and part of northwest Saskatchewan, and is known as the Taxation Treaty because it is the first treaty to reference taxation with regards to First Nations.
