Indian Residential School Survivor Society’s Mandate:

To assist First Peoples in British Columbia to recognize and be holistically empowered from the primary and generational effects of residential schools by supporting research, promoting awareness, establishing partnerships and advocating for justice and healing.

What Does the Society Do?

  • supports survivors: crisis counselling, court support, information, referrals assists communities to help survivors: partnerships, training & education workshops raises awareness of residential school issues: contact with the media; conferences supports & conducts research: history and effects of residential schools
  • advocates for justice and healing: traditional and non-aboriginal forms
