This initiative is a cooperative effort between the United Way Winnipeg, International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and a large cross-section of Winnipeggers. Its goal was to track and monitor the issues of importance to Winnipeggers such as basic needs, health, education & learning, social vitality, governance, built environment, economy, and natural environment and one cross-cutting issue, poverty. Thus through extensive consultation processes within the city, indicators were developed on which data is now being collected.
