All First Nation communities have accountabilities: to members for services provided;to funding agencies for use of funding;to lenders forrepayment ofloans;etc. In order to communicate the compliance with these accountabilities, most First Nations are currently only relying on financial reports. However, for many stakeholders, especially the members, the financial resources are only one component of the relationship that they want communicated. Other resources, such as people, culture, and infrastructure need to be communicated as well. To properly communicate the use of these resources, systems need to be put in place to measure and report on the use of the resources.
