NILTU,O is a Child and Family Services organization that serves Coast Salish people and communities in the Greater Victoria area. We have a unique institutional structure combining provincial accountability, federal funding, and a measure of operational independence.
About the Opportunity
NITLU,O has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Community Services Manager to join our team in Victoria on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Executive Director and under the mentorship of the Community Services Manager, you will manage a team of delegated Social Workers, Family Services Workers, and a File Administration team.
More specifically your responsibilities will include:
-Working with Social Workers on a monthly basis to review caseload reports and track case progress.
-Maintaining a client feedback process regarding services delivered.
-Performing a regular review of referrals and assessing their suitability according to the Agency's program contract specifications.
-Providing interpretation of CF&CS Act, Adoptions Act, Young Offenders Act, AOPSI, Chapter Three and other pertinent Provincial and Federal legislation on a regular basis.
-Managing staff in terms of scheduling, training, employee development, and provision of a first level of response to resolving staff grievances.
-Coordinating services with other Provincial, Federal, and Municipal agencies in the region.
-Participating in Community Practice Circle meetings as requested by the committee.
-In consultations with the Executive Director, meet with Coast Salish Leadership and Administration and participating in Community events and ceremonies.
-Assisting the Executive Director with negotiation and development of protocols with Coast Salish people in the Region.
-Participating in short and long term planning and goal setting for the Agency.
-Maintaining a sound understanding of Funder contract requirements.
-Assisting the Executive Director in developing and maintaining activity reports for Funders and community.
In order to qualify for this role, you will have previous experience as a Social Worker combined with either a BSW, a BA in Child and Youth Care, an M.ED in counselling, or an MA in Clinical Psychology. Previous delegated child protection experience is also a requirement as is a full C6 delegation or the eligibility to immediately attain a full C6 delegation. Due to the nature of this role a valid drivers license is required as well.
