This unique position brings together community outreach and talent acquisition, focused on finding and growing our Indigenous health care practitioners in the North.

This pilot position is an innovative collaboration between Northern Health & First Nations Health Authority – with a vision to build a strong pipeline of Indigenous health care practitioners In the North, For the North. As a Sourcing Specialist, you will grow and leverage your relationships with First Nations communities and organizations across the North to find the best current and future Indigenous talent for our Health Authorities. You will balance your time between sourcing for open roles and doing outreach in communities and schools, encouraging our next generation to build their career in health care. You will also act as a bridge and liaison between the two health authorities.

Some priority projects you will work on:

-Sourcing and full-cycle recruitment for over 300 Home Support Health Care Access Program (HCAP) positons and Mobile Support Team positions
-Building partnerships with schools across the North to enable outreach and support student recruitment.
-Build relationships with First Nations communities and organizations to source local, hard-to-find talent.

To be successful in this role you will need:

-Lived experience in the North with strong existing relationships in community
-Undergraduate degree and/or an advanced certificate in human resources, marketing, or related topic.
-2 to 4 years of progressively responsible experience in recruitment,
-Experience in community engagement
-Project management skills that encompass multiple facets.
-Experience working in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
-Preference will be given to candidates with experience in healthcare, and/or with First Nations, and/or recruiting in a unionized environment.
-An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
