A Grant and Proposal Writing course was conducted for members of the Gitxaala Nation administration. The purpose of the course was to provide training in all the elements of preparing applications for grants or funding opportunities. This handout was used in the course of the training.
The methodology for the accountability and reporting system was planned in advance, so it could be covered in the training course. Applying for a grant or writing a proposal is only the first step in a project.
At all stages of the grant and proposal writing project, participants were made aware that personal training or mentoring was available to them. Following the training course, each participant was contacted by the consultant either by phone or in person, to follow up on the course content.
