17 Fish Farms in BC Will Close in Next Five Years

In a new agreement between the BC government and First Nations, seventeen open-pen fish farms in BC's Broughton Archipelago will be phased out by 2023. The transition will begin in 2019. According to Premier John Horgan, the agreement will ensure the economy for the industry remians stable while protecting the health of wild salmon in the archipelago.
