Alexandra Morton, biologist and wild salmon activist, is on the BC coast in a Sea Shepherd Conservation Society ship in an effort to bring attention to the declining wild salmon stocks and diseases on industrial fish farms. Morton is suing the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. She believes the department isĀ breaking the law because it is not testing farmed salmon for piscine reovirus (PRV) before allowing those salmon to be placed in net pens in the sea.
