The Dzawada’enuxw First Nation of Kingcome Inlet says ten fish farms are operating in their territory without their consent. In an effort to put a stop to the invasion of the fish farms, the B.C. First Nation has filed a claim of Aboriginal title. The tenures for most of these fish farms expire on June 20, and the Dzawada’enuxw want to make it clear to those fish farms that they will not allow those tenures to be renewed.
