The British Columbia government announced a plan to create and operate 1,750 units of housing through a new Indigenous Housing Fund. The announcement focused on housing for women, leaving concern about housing targeted to youth, especially those aging out of government foster care. The Aboriginal Housing Management Association, an umbrella group for 42 housing providers that manage a total of 4,200 units, will be involved in the new housing initiative.
