BC Metis to Assume Responsibility for Children in Government Care

B.C.'s Métis community signed an agreeement with the province to transfer control of child welfare programs back to the Metis community. This agreement with help to substantially reduce the number of Métis children and youth in government care. Currently, 520 Métis youth receive services through B.C.'s Ministry of Children and Family Development.
