At least 40 percent of teachers have experienced physical, emotional, or verbal violence, according to a survey by the Canadian Federation of Teachers. Education assistants often face the most violence from students. Over a 10-year period from 2007 to 2017, 110 incidents of workplace violence were reported to WorkSafe BC in the Vancouver School District.
