Federal Government to Declare Holiday to Honour Residential School Survivors

The federal government will declare a statutory holiday to honour the survivors of residential schools as part of its commitment to truth and reconciliation. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) created a Call to Action to  establish a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The government will announce the date and name of the holiday after plans are finalized.
