Assembly of First Nations chiefs attended international meetings on climate change in both 2015 and 2016. Even so, influence on policy regarding the environmental and climate change agenda in Canada has been slow to happen. First Nations chiefs stress the importance of meaningful engagement with the federal government at the community level.
