The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) will hold its election for national chief in Vancouver on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Noel Starbucket, former AFN national chief, believes the advocacy organization has become disconnected from the people it is supposed to represent. Patrick Madahbee, a former Anishinabek Grand Council chief, says the AFN should modernize and allow the people to elect the leadership.
