Heiltsuk First Nation Files Suit Against Sunken Tugboat Operator

The Heiltsuk First Nation in BC is suing the operator of a sunken tugboat that spilled thousands of litres of diesel into waters near Bella Bella in 2016. The BC government and federal government are also named in the suit. The Heiltsuk First Nation is seeking compensation for cultural and financial losses that stem from the damage to clam beds harvested by the First Nation.
