Indigenous Housing Contest Creates Concern

The Indigenous Homes Innovation Challenge will be launched by the federal government this fall for First Nations communities to win $30 million toward innovative housing projects on reserve. The contest is drawing criticism from the public and is being called the "Hunger Games of on reserve housing" by advocate Arnell Tailfeathers. Housing for Indigenous people has reached a crisis level. Applications will open this fall and close in winter 2019.
