Indigenous Marine Biologist Visits Underwater Mountain

Jaasaljuus Yakgujanaas, Haida Nation member and junior marine biologist, visited the SGaan Kinghlas Bowie Seamount as part of a 16-day North East Pacific Seamount expedition. Seamounts, or underwater mountains, are abundant in the Pacific Ocean. The Haida Gwaii believe the SGaan Kinghlas Bowie Seamount offers protection to their people.
