The Federal Court of Appeal is set to hear an appeal to overturn federal approval of the Trans Mountain Pipeline extension. Even if the appeal is dismissed, opposition will not stop. Six BC First Nations (Tsleil-Waututh, Coldwater Indian Band, Upper Nicola Band, Stk’emlupsemc Te Secwepemc Nation, Sto:lo, and Squamish Nation) have joined with the province of BC, the cities of Vancouver and Burnaby, and two environmental organizations to oppose the pipeline extension.
