Language and Culture Programming Added to Alberta Childcare Centres

Six early learning and childcare centres across Alberta are implementing Indigenous-focused programming at their locations. This programming includes traditional drumming, storytelling, and language lessons in Michif, Blackfoot, and Cree. This pilot program is being carried out in conjuction with the federal government. In addition, the first licensed First Nation day care centre was opened on-reserve at Kapawe'no First Nation northwest of Edmonton.
