Teacher and Snuneymuxw elder, Mandy Jones, teaches Hul'qumi'num language classes at the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District in BC. She combines language instruction and cultural teachings. In the past, the only place the Hul'qumi'num language could be heard was in an on reserve classroom. As language revitalization grows, students take the language home and teach it to their siblings and friends.
