National Inquiry into MMIWG Closes Out Hearing in Iqaluit

National inquiry into missing and murdered women and girls commissioner Qajaq Robinson gave powerful closing remarks at the Iqaluit hearing challenging non-Indigenous people to make room for Indigenous voices. Many difficult topics were covered during the hearings, including testimony on the difficulty of Indigenous women and LGBTQ people obtaining justice for sexual assault and gender isolation. The hearing now move to Quebec City, where testimony will focus on the impact of police.
