New Environmental Assessment Act Will Ensure Indigenous Participation

British Columbia's government is creating new legislation to increase the participation of Indigenous people in the environmental assessment of projects. The new Environmental Assessment Act would replace the existing one, and it seeks to deliver stronger environmental protections with increased participation of First Nations from the start of an environmental review. The new act will ensureĀ the legal rights of First Nations are respected.
