Oilsands Project Threatens Rights of Fort McKay First Nation in Alberta

The Fort McKay First Nation in Alberta is suing the province over development approvals on sacred land. The band says the Moose Lake area needs to be preserved in order for members to exercise their treaty rights. An oilsands project has been approved that, when complete, will come within two kilometres of Moose Lake.
