The Federal government has approved a proposal to build a Liquified Natural Gas terminal on the northern B.C. coast, subject to 190 environmental conditions. Leaders from the Wet’suwet’en, Lake Babine and Gitxsan First Nations have expressed concern over the damage the terminal could do to salmon habitat along the Skeena River.
