Provincial Government in Ontario Decides to Close Child Advocate Office

The provincial government of Ontario has decided to eliminate the role of Ontario Child Advocate and repeal the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth Act 2007. Advocates say the office ensures that Indigenous children have a voice and a champion, and they are urging the Ontario government to change its stance on this issue and keep the office and Act in place.
