Ermineskin Cree Nation, Onion Lake Cree Nation, O’Chiese First Nation, and Tsuut’ina Nation joined forces to file an urgent action to the United Nations’ Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) against the federal government's agenda for reconciliation. In the document filed to CERD, the First Nations point out the lack of free, prior, and informed consent. They have asked a representative from CERD to observe the implementation of the international standards.
