Grizzly Bear Recovery Plan

Resource Description:

This proposed Kwiakah-Phillips grizzly bear ecosystem recovery plan was prepared as an essential and proactive conservation component of the Kwiakah First Nation Core Aboriginal Title Lands—Grizzly Bear Research Project. The primary goal is to protect and restore adequate grizzly bear habitats and connectivity in the Phillips watershed on the BC south coast. The Phillis has been significantly altered and degraded from a long history of industrial forestry. This plan proposes to recover Phillips grizzly bears from a low of 10-12 grizzly bears to at least 40-50 animals.
