Sq'ewa:lxw First Nation Noise Control Law 2018

Resource Description: 

The Sq'ewa:lxw Noise Control Law 2018 was put forward for consideration at a duly convened meeting of Chief and Council on February 28th, 2018 and passed by Council on April 25th, 2018. 

The purpose of the law is to prevent unreasonable noise that is likely to disturb the community. The law is applicable to the whole area of the reserves (Skawahlook IR# 1 and Ruby Creek IR# 2), to all Sq'ewa:lxw land, to all land held under certificate of possession, and to members and non-members. 

The Noise Control Law allows for the prohibition of any noise in or on a public or private place which disturbs or tends to disturb the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment, comfort, or convenience of any person or persons.
