Tsilhqot'in Cumulative Effects Framework

Resource Description: 

Drawing on their spiritual and cultural connection to the land and the legal basis for using, managing and benefitting from the land, the Tsilhqot’in Nation wants to ensure that the cumulative effects of resource development on their Aboriginal Title and Rights are recognized and addressed.

Through the Nenqay Deni Accord, the Province of British Columbia has recognized the need to collaborate with the Tsilhqot’in Nation to: 

a. document Tsilhqot’in values, objectives and vision for land and resource management;

b. seek to address access management issues and cumulative effects assessment and management;

c. inform decision-making about land and resource management;
